lyrics
I made my own reflection
And not to mention
I heard what they said yeah
It’s stuck with me right now
You shout from the window
My voice is still broken
I should’ve just stayed home
The wound is still open
Well why won’t you close it
I don’t think I know how
Just leave it alone then
And that was all my fault
We’re already out now
Ran into an old friend
Well look what just happened
LEAVE IT ALONE
LEAVE IT ALONE
LEAVE IT ALONE
MOMENTS AGO
MOMENTS AGO
MOMENTS AGO
NOTHING TO SHOW
NOTHING TO SHOW
NOTHING TO SHOW
DON’T WANT TO KNOW
DON’T WANT TO KNOW
DON’T WANT TO …
Can I
Ask you a question
I’m scared of the answer
Just patch it together
Yeah I’ll fix myself up
And then you would like me
Done holding it in now
So they all can bite me
I can’t find a reason
But I’ll keep on searching
This won’t be the last time
I know that for certain
I wanna start over
It’s never been closer
We’re on a new chapter
Just wish I had closure
I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
Even better the original. The fuzzy guitars create this warm, enveloping wall of sound that makes this classic a lot richer than Sheryl Crow's version. Allison's stout-hearted vocals, tinged with a subtle shade of blue, deliver some of the most resolute, optimistic lyrics in pop music with finesse and nostalgia. purelyanecdotal
